although the paragraph purported to be about guarding against pornography, it struck me that they are attempting to kill two birds with one stone here, without mentioning one of the birds by name.

What other religion considers masturbation, clean toilet hygiene, etc. appropriate topics for a formal group Bible study at a house of worship, begun by prayer and hymn singing?

we all know they just don't want jws to read all the real truth about the wts.. but what if there is another reason?

it's so obvious there are so many charlatans and liars getting away with fraud.. it's so obvious that religions are causing most all of the dissention between peoples.. but, because of wt teachings that this act of "government turning on religion" will harbor the worst evil of all....do you still feel a bit uneasy about it?.
do you think religions have taught this paranoia to try to save their own a$$?.
I think it's appropriate that governments maintain a vigliance on radical fundamentalism, of whatever stripe. Beyond that, JW's persistent harping on "governments (or the UN) turning on organized religion" is getting tiresome and nothing more than scaremongering
i've noticed that lately (maybe as of a year ago or so) there have been personal quotations in every single study article.
it seems a brother or sister always sends in the exact quotation that would fit perfectly into an article.
has anyone else noticed this?.

Minimus, it's impossible to say for sure, but certainly far fewer percentage-wise than in the past. Does anyone think, for example, they can get today's JWs to support an 8-day convention, including volunteering for food service, or have them knocking on doors to find rooms for out-of-town delegates? Or, for that matter, to get out-of-town delegates to accept lodging in a "worldly" stranger's apartment in a strange town?
i understand that the revelation "climax" book is being studied again.. if you are a jehovah's witness out here in the internet wilderness there is a unique opportunity to.
measure what you are learning in the "climax" book against truths that exist outside of the organization.. i invite you to take some time to do that.

In the first case, nobody to date has demonstrated anything remotely the requisite imagination, flamboyance and brain power; secondly, and probably just as important, politically the present GB is more than unlikely to allow one of its peers to rise to that level of prominence and wrest a disproportionate level of attention (and prestige) from the pack.
